Cut
the Councillors Basic Allowance by 15%
In 2005/6
the Councillors Basic Allowance was £6,539, this
tax year 2009, they are claiming £7,688 a rise of 15%!
SAMRA believes that the Basic Allowance should be cut to the 2005/6 level a
reduction of 15% or £1,153, a saving of £58,803 of your money.
If this cut was made it would mean less cuts to services, and would give better
value for money to us the Council Tax payer, as well as being less money needed
from Council reserves. All SAMRA Councillors will only accept 15% less than
the current Basic Allowance each year – Saving us all money!

Sincerely,
